Membership Options

Membership is open to professionals and organisations working in sound or image for film, television, and allied media. This includes but is not limited to directors, producers, sound engineers, and visual effects specialists who are actively engaged in the creative process.

Full Member:

• 6+ years’ experience;

• Full voting rights;

• Eligible for Council;

• May use SAEG after their name;

• Requires two Full Member sponsors.
  
  This category is ideal for seasoned professionals who have demonstrable expertise and wish to influence the direction of the association.

Associate Member:

• 3–6 years’ experience;

• Voting rights;

• Not eligible for Council;

• Two Full Member sponsors are required.
  
  Ideal for individuals who are establishing their careers and wish to gain recognition and support from established members.

Foundation Member:

• Under 3 years’ experience;

• No voting rights;

• No sponsors;

• CV required;

• Student discounts may apply.

  This membership is designed for students or recent graduates looking to network and gain access to resources within the industry.

Honorary Member:

• Awarded for significant contribution.

• Privileges depend on prior status.

Fellow:

• Honorary distinction awarded by Council.

Affiliate Member:

• Allied professionals or researchers;

• No voting rights;

• Usually two Full Member sponsors.

Partner Member:

• Organisations supporting the Association,

• Industry or Academic categories;

• No voting rights.

Retired Member:

• Fully retired members retain prior privileges.

Applications & Approval

If sponsorship requirements cannot be met, applications may still be considered with a verified CV and two or more professional references All applications are reviewed by Council, whose decision is final Membership privileges begin only after payment of fees

Fees & Subscriptions

Annual subscription:

UGX 200,000 or USD 55 Fees are set by the Council and payable annually

Registration fee:

UGX 20,000 or USD 5 Fees are set by the Council and are payable once on registration
