Ssemujju Isima — known to many as "Sound Man Omumpi" — is a multidisciplinary creative with more than a decade of experience in sound engineering, events technical direction, and, increasingly, producing for stage, television, and film. His training is as broad as his practice: he holds a Bachelor's degree in Drama and Film, a Diploma in Documentary Filmmaking, and a certificate in Festival Management.

Over the years he has worked as a stage manager, a festival technical director, and a film-locations sound engineer on both international and local productions. Some of that work has gone on to screen on Netflix and Showmax and at festivals including the Festival de Cannes, the Red Sea International Film Festival, and Sundance — a reach that reflects both the quality of the productions he chooses and the reliability he brings to a set.

Isima is a co-founder of Mulika Studios and holds leadership positions across several creative associations, where he advocates for professional industry standards. Much of his energy goes into mentorship: he is committed to bringing the next generation of audio engineers and filmmakers along, and to closing the gap between the industry's experienced hands and its emerging talent.
